  What an absolute gem this restaurant is!!! First time to Albany and we followed the reviews to this place. Driving into a strip mall, we were skeptical. Despite the first impression of the environment, we parked and decided to give it a shot. We were impressed on every level! Walking in without a reservation at 7:30p on a Thursday night, we were warmly welcomed by the Maitre'D. A small band was playing soft tunes and all of the skepticism was quickly replaced by delight.
  
  Our server, Antara, is a treasure. A recent college grad, she proved attentive, authentically personable, and added wonderfully to our experience.
  
  Shortly after sitting, a warm loaf of sourdough bread and fresh tapenade was brought out. We quickly learned that everything is home made. The tapenade was fantastic! There were four of us and we each ordered a pasta dish. I ordered the pasta special, which was a bowl of wide fettuccine made with scallops and truffle oil. WOW, rich and absolutely fabulous!!! All of our meals were delicious!! The menu prices and expansive wine list are remarkably reasonable. Can not speak highly enough.

  This place was fabulous, from the live band playing great tunes all through out dinner. To the friendly wait staff and also the delicious food I would highly recommend this place. I stopped into dinner while traveling, I got the caprese salad which was good, I wanted the burrata one I saw in a yelp review but I got four individual slices of mozzarella still great. Then I got a plate of the clams and pasta which was outstanding. The clams were cooked perfectly, the pasta was also cooked to perfection. First time in here but if I'm through Albany again which is pretty regularly for me I'll stop back.

  Phenomenal !. We didn't have reservations (on a Saturday night), so the Maitre D did a walk around and found a table for us immediately. The server was extremely professional, attentive and personable. The food was wonderful. I ordered one of the specials, a pasta dish with scallops, shrimp, cheese and butternut squash, Dessert was Panna Cotta. I thought I died and went to Heaven. The coffee was served hot and fresh. I was so impressed, on the way out I had to stop and congratulate the Maitre D on an outstanding job. We were visiting from CT. I would consider driving up from CT just to have dinner here again !

  This place should be allowed to have 10/5 STARS! We went here after being recommended it and it met all of our expectations by far. The full bar, the ambience, the music at the front and the food. Oh my god. All of it is so good, we will be returning as regulars here. Food is very fresh and homemade. The bathrooms are ridiculously clean and fancy. Staff is very friendly and very professional. We can't wait to return!

  We were visiting the Albany, NY and wanted a special place for dinner.  After reading many reviews, we decided on Grappa '72 !  We knew we were in the right place when the parking lot was filled.  We called from the parking lot and asked for reservations with Alexis.  She informed us that there was a 2.5 hour wait.  Not ready to give up, I told her that there were just two of us in the parking lot and heard great things.  She consulted with Marco and were able to get us a table 5 minutes later.  We were so thankful.  Whitney immediately brought us bread and water.  And then Mario answered our questions about the salads and entrees.  Wow, service throughout the meal was superb. Marco stopped by our table and we spoke about West Palm Beach.  The food was so good that we wanted to return two days later but they close early.  Definitely a must visit but make reservations early!
